Martha Eliza Bezanson (John5, Anna Barbara Lantz4, Maria Elizabeth Ewald3, Johann Georg2, Christian1).
Born on 1 Feb 1844.
This Martha Hiltz has been incorrectly identified in both Bezanson of Nova Scotia (Dorothy Evans: Halifax, N.S., 1986) and The Brothers Huls / Hiltz “from Ortenberg to Lunenburg”: Focus on The Forties, Fraxville, New Ross District (Vernon Keddy: New Ross, N.S., 2002) as the wife of Francis Price based on the 18 January 1859 marriage of Francis Price to a Martha Bezanson at Sherbrooke (now New Ross), Nova Scotia in the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church records at Chester, Nova Scotia. It is unlikely that a 15-year-old Martha Bezanson married a 48-year-old Francis Price. The 1871 and 1881 census data for Martha Price are fairly consistent that she was born about 1815 or 1816.
