Ira Hatchard served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War and saw stationed in England where he met his wife Joyce Renn. An accomplished businessman, Ira Hatchard was an insurance adjuster who rose to become a regional and district manager for the General Adjustment Bureau. His work took him to numerous cities including Bellingham, Yakima, and Seattle, Washington; Great Falls, Montana; Phoenix, Aarizona; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and San Francisco, California.
