John Glawson served in the Canadian military from 1942 to 1945 during the Second World War. In 1946 he was an apprentice in painting and decorating in Brandon, Manitoba. He received his journeyman’s papers in 1957. Two years later in 1959, he started his own business: Glawson Painting and Decorating, Ltd. He retired in 1983.
