Early in his career, William Rhuland was the bakery truck driver for Young’s Bakery, Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. He later worked as a salesman for A. Hobrecker Ltd. of Halifax, Nova Scotia. He drove a school bus for over 30 years, safely delivering thousands of children from the Oakland, Indian Point and Oakhill areas of Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. In later years he worked at his sister Marion’s independent grocery store and later Rhuland’s Save Easy, Mahone Bay. For a number of years he assisted with funerals at Mahone Funeral Home. William Rhuland was a charter and former member of the Mahone Bay and Area Lions Club. He was a member of St James’ Anglican Church, Mahone Bay and an adherent to Trinity United Church, Mahone Bay, where he was a member of the men’s choir and also on the Board of Trustees.37
