Cecil Aalders served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 30 years and was stationed at C.F.B. Summerside, Prince Edward Island and C.F.B. Greenwood, Nova Scotia as a flight engineer before retiring in 1978. Following his retirement he had several jobs including working in the advertising department for the Berwick Register in Berwick, Nova Scotia, at the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission, Berwick and as a car salesman at Milne's Garage, New Minas, Nova Scotia. He was a honorary life member of the Berwick Lion's Club and a 32 year member and past president of The Dukes of Kent, a harmony chorus in Kentville, Nova Scotia.50

Gerald Milne’s life's work was primarily vehicle sales at Milne's Garage Ltd, New Minas, Nova Scotia. However, he also operated Gerry's BA service station in west-end Kentville, Nova Scotia in the 1960s and later managed Liverpool Auto Supplies in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. He sold vehicles for Lorne Fraser in Kingston, Fundy Ford in Middleton, Nova Scotia and Evangeline Motors in Coldbrook, Nova Scotia. After retirement, Gerald Milne proudly served as an ambassador at Milne Court Petro-Canada in New Minas. He was also a highly successful dowser sought by builders and well drillers for his water witching skills.
Gerry Milne joined the Scouting Movement in 1946 and dedicated over 38 years to scouting. He became a leader with the 1st New Minas Boy Scout troop in 1953, serving as Scout Master for 15 years. While Scout Master, he chaired the Finance Committee which rebuilt the New Minas Community Hall after it burned down in 1958. He helped introduce winter scout camping in Kings County (at Hidden Valley) and organized Nova Scotia's first bicycle rodeo in 1960. He arranged troop exchange trips with Sudbury, Ontario and Boston, Massachusetts, and established remote scout camps in places such as the Isle of Haute in the Bay of Fundy. He attended the 11th World Scout Jamboree in Greece in 1963, assuming the role of Quarter Master in the Canadian contingent sub-camp. In 1968, he became a scout leader with the Milton-Liverpool, Nova Scotia troop and then Scout Master for the Mill Village , Nova Scotia scout troop in 1969. From 1977 to 1992, he served as Cub Master for the 4th Kentville Cub Scout group. He and his wife Pauline hosted seven waterfront summer cub camps at their Aylesford Lake, Nova Scotia home. Gerry Milne was a Sunday school teacher and young people's group leader with the North Alton Baptist Church during the 1950s. He rejoined the North Alton Baptist Church in the late 1990s.76
