The origins of Otto and Maria Margareta (Weil) Hüls are not known. It is possible that they were born in Wenings, Grafschaft Isenburg. The church records for this community, like many others in Germany begin just after the end of the Thirty Years War (1618-1648) which devastated large areas of Germany. The Hüls family may be a displaced family from another community near Wenings or may be from another region all together.
