He served in that position for four years and then became an honourary governor of the the organization. He was a member and officer of many trade-related organizations among which were the Canadian Exporters Association, the Canadian section of the International Chamber of Commerce, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce. He was a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Banking. Edward ERnst was a founding director of the Bank of London and Montreal which was based in Nassau, the Bahamas. He complete post-graduate studies in international banking and foreign exchange at the New York University School ogf Business Administration.43
