At the time of marriage in 1943, Roy Sadler was a staff quarter master sargeant in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps.8 He was veteran of the Second World War and retired as a captain after 24 years service. During his army career he served in the Middle East earning the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal. For his second career, Roy Sadler received a Teacher's License-Vocational from the Province of New Brunswick and taught at the New Brunswick Institute of Technology in Moncton until retirement at the age 63. During this period he was active on the Cook Provincial Advisory Committee for the New Brunswick Department of Labour and Manpower and also served in various positions for the Canadian Restaurant Association.
