Clifton Hiltz served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War. He was a member of the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment. He served in the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. He received the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. After the War, he lived in Toronto, Ontario before returning to Nova Scotia. He was cook for survey crews with the Nova Scotia Department of Lands and Forests in the 1960s. Earlier in life, Leon Turner worked as a carpenter and woods worker. He was employed at Ross Farm Museum at New Ross, Nova Scotia as a cooper and as an interpreter for 18 years. He was a member of the Nova Scotia Christmas Tree Producers Association. He faithfully attended variety shows throughout the Annapolis Valley and the South Shore. He had a love of vegetable gardening, tree fruit production and growing Christmas trees.136

Leon Whilie married Norma Elizabeth Lantz (Living) (8628) , daughter of 3320. Asaph Whitman Lantz & Elsie Priscilla Sarty.
