Donald Hebb joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (R.C.A.F.) during the Second World War and served in the United Kingdom with No. 6 Group as a bomb aimer in the R.C.A.F. Bomber Command. After the war, Don Hebb worked with his father at E.H. Hebb Men’s Wear in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia and later worked with Canada Post until his retirement in 1985. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 23, Lunenburg, serving two terms as President. He was also active in several community associations including the Lunenburg Fire Department, Lunenburg Minor Hockey Association, the Lunenburg Industrial Hockey League and the Lunenburg Tennis Club.247

Donald Raymond married Anne Frances Kinley, daughter of Wilfred Francis Kinley & Roberta Ora Bachman. Born on 18 May 1926 in Lunenburg, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada. Anne Frances died in Lunenburg, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 9 Mar 2005; she was 78.

Bill Hebb was highly regarded in municipal government having served as Town Clerk and Treasurer for the towns of Annapolis Royal, Middleton and Bridgewater, Nova Scotia where he retired in 1988. He was a very active outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and garden during his days in the Annapolis Valley and was always an avid golfer and curler until recent years.165
