He was an active member of the Cambridge United Baptist Church as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, trustee, and choir member. In 1983 he moved to Berwick, Nova Scotia where he was a member of the Legion, the Citizen Advocacy, the Veterans Club, Antique Engine Club, and the Berwick food Bank.136
