In 1980 Gordon Spurr graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Truro, Nova Scotia. In 1995 he proudly served as president of the Nova Sscotia Fruit Growers Association, being the 4th generation of Spurrs to do so. Gordon enjoyed his lifelong passion for farming with Spurr Brothers Farms Limited, continuing the legacy of the original farm dating back to 1875. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Melvern Square, Nova Scotia and served as deacon and treasurer.166
