The 1901 Canadian federal census states that Gabriel Meisner resided in the Mahone Bay Road census district, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. He lived in his parents’ household. On 1 Dec 1894 Gabriel Henry first married Minnie E. Oxner, daughter of James Lubin Oxner & Rebecca Anne Eisenhauer, in Mahone Bay, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada.8 Born on 24 May 1867 in Chester Basin, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, British North America.8 Minnie E. died bef 1901; she was 33.

They had no children.

On 5 Nov 1901 Gabriel Henry second married Maria Blanche Salome Sawler, daughter of George Benjamin Sawler & Georgina Rafuse, in Lunenburg, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada.19,8 Born on 23 Dec 1882 in Western Shore, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada. Maria Blanche Salome died on 7 Dec 1907; she was 24.

1881/1891 CENSUS

The 1911 Canadian federal census states that Gabriel and Mary Meisner with his two children, her two children and their daughter resided on Herman’s Island, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. Gabriel Meisner was a farmer. The Meisner family were Methodists whereas the two Levy children were Baptists. (RG 31-C-1, 1911, Nova Scotia, Lunenburg Co., ED 49-24, Mahone Bay Rod, p. 10)
