Ardythe Arnold loved baking and cooking and was famous for her baked beans and brown bread. Together with her husband, Robert they preserved fruit and vegetables out of their bountiful garden and loved to invite family, friends and neighbours over for homemade ice cream over the winter months. She had a green thumb and was proud of her house plants. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, ceramics, showing their purebred herd of Limousin cattle and square dancing. She worked on the farm all her married life, picking and grading apples, raking and baling hay and the many other duties of a farm wife. She had been employed with Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre in Kentville, Nova Scoria for five years and later for Weavexx in Kentville for 24 years.109
