Harry Hebb joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1938 and served in Canada, training aircrews in wireless operation. He went overseas to Europe in 1944 and served with the Military Government in Germany until 1949. He then served as a military attaché in Washington, D.C. until 1954. Until 1964, he had various postings across Canada and was in charge of the radar installations across Northern Canada. From 1964 to 1969, he served with NATO in Europe and retired from the service in 1979 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He started his own business as a locksmith in Port Colborne, Ontario and retired in 1988. He passed away at the Foot Hills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta, in 1996 of inoperable brain cancer.
