Donald Crouse was an able seaman in the Canadian Merchant Navy. He was serving on the M.V. Vancouver Island out of Montréal, Québec.54 The unescorted M.V. Vancouver Island was torpedoed and sunk off the coast of Ireland on 15 October 1941 by U-558 of the German Kriegsmarine (Navy) with all 105 lives lost.
