Mary Catherine died in Mader’s Cove, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 11 Oct 1921; she was 85.10 Buried on 14 Oct 1921 in Mahone Bay, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada.10

The 1871 Canadian federal census states that Alfred and Catherine Strum with six children resided in the Mahone Bay census district, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. Alfred Strum was a farmer. Their daughter and son-in-law Jane and John Dauphinee lived in the household. Alfred Strum was a fisherman. Robert Strum was a seaman. Henry and Charles Strum were farmers. John Dauphinee was a carpenter. Alfred Strum, the children and Jane Dauphinee were Methodists. Catherine Strum was a Lutheran. John Dauphinee was a Baptist. Mary Catherine Strum died from chronic nephritis.
