Born on 13 Nov 1928 in Zwicker’s Island, Indian Point, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada.156 Albert St.Clair died in Lunenburg, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 8 Aug 2008; he was 79.156

At age 15, Albert Young signed up for the Canadian Merchant Marine. He served out the duration of Second World War on oil tankers crisscrossing the Atlantic. After the war ended, he sailed for Imperial Oil Limited. From 1960 until 1968, he was employed by Palmer’s Refrigeration Ltd., Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 1968 the family moved to Blockhouse, Nova Scotia because he had a job with South Shore Sales and Service Ltd. in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. In 1974 he started Young’s Refrigeration Ltd. which he ran until his retirement in 1997. He was a faithful member and served on the church council of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation in Spryfield, Nova Scotia and St John’s Lutheran Church in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia where he was council secretary from 1973 until 1977. He was a member of the Blockhouse Fire Department from 1976 until 1984 and served as fire chief from 1980 until 1984. Al Young was a member of the Maritimes Fire Chiefs Association for 28 years, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 23 in Lunenburg where he held various positions on the executive, and a member of the Canadian Merchant Navy Veterans Association.156

On 11 Aug 1951 Albert St.Clair married Grace Ernst in Hamilton, Wentworth Co., Ontario, Canada.
