During the First World War, Francis Naish lived in the ‘Married Quarters, South Barracks,’ Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was an electrician in the Royal Corps of Engineers. On 1 November 1905, he joined the Rozal Corps of Engineers and served 12½ years at which point on 22 June 1918 he became a member of the Canadian Expedionary Forces under routine order 1081 of 1918.107
