7853. Bruce Allen Reeves (Eleanor Joyce Whynacht9, Carl Francis Alexander8, Roselia Whynot7, Johann Conrad Whynacht6, Johann Jacob Weinacht5, John Frederick4, Johannes3, Johann Adam Weynacht2, Christian1). Born on 24 Jun 1959. Bruce Allen died in Halifax, Halifax R.M., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 20 Mar 2018; he was 58.

Bruce Reeves completed 35 years of military service. He enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces (CF) at the age of 17 as a medic. While serving as a medic, his highlight was looking after the Vietnamese refugees arriving in Edmonton, Alberta. In September 1989 Bruce Reeves was commissioned into the Canadian Forces as a Nursing Officer. While serving as a nurse his tours of duty sent him to Gračac, Bosnia and Herzegovina; Camp Mirage, Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and three times to Afghanistan. He served as a Charge Nurse at the traume centre at the N.A.T.O. Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit, Kandahar International Airport (KAR), Afghanistan. (J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Halifax, Nova Scotia)

Bruce Reeves was very honoured when artist Karen Bailey recognized him for his dedication to his patients in Afghanistan and therefore added his likeness within the Official Portrait of the Governor-General Michael Jean. The portrait is housed in the Governor General’s mansion Rideau Hall in Ottawa, Ontario. He commenced his bucket list of items with a 'road' trip to Ottawa to be photographed with this painting. He was so very proud of this moment.
