Charles Stewart was a farmer at Lot 62 according to the 1841 Prince Edward Island census. He headed a household that consisted of two males under age 16, two males aged 16-45, one male over 60, three females under age 16, and three females aged 16-45. The family were all members of the Church of Scotland. Three were natives of Scotland while eight were born at Prince Edward Island. Charles Stewart held 187 acres of land fee simple, of which 50 acres were arable. In 1840 he produced 40 bushels of wheat, ten bushels of barley, 200 bushels of oats, and 700 bushels of potatoes. He owned three horses, 18 neat cattle. 30 sheep and seven hogs.

'Big' Alex Stewart first settled on the road from Orwell Bay to Dixon's Mill on the Pinnette River in Belfast, current-day Eldon, Lot 57. He was a tailor and a farmer. On 28 September 1804, Thomas, Earl of Selkirk, through his attorney James Williams, Esq., of Charlottetown sold to Alexander Stewart of Queens County, farmer, for £30, in fee simple, 100 acres and the messuage or tenement in the parish of St. John's in Lot 57 on the east side of the road leading from Orwell Bay to the saw mill on the Pinette River, running along Samuel Nicholson's march, "which said Premises have been for some time in the Possession of the said Alexander Stewart". Witnesses to the deed were "C. Stewart" and "Chas Stewart Junr". Alexander Stewart signed the deed and paid £30 in full on the dame date. The deed was recorded on 22 November 1805 (PEI Deeds, 12:34-337). He eventually settled at Belle Creek, Lot 62 after marrying. The house and farm at Belfast were sold according to the "Prince Edward Island Register" (Sat., 1 May 1843, p. 3).
The 1841 Prince Edward Island census records that Alexander Stewart was a farmer residing at Lot 62. He headed a household consisting of five males under age 16, two males aged 16-45, one male aged 45-60, three females under aged 16, and one female aged 16-45. All twelve members of the household were members of the Church of Scotland and were natives of Prince Edward Island. Alexander Stewart owned 100 acres of land in fee simple of which 30 acres were arable. He produced 45 bushels of wheat, 200 bushels of oats, and 600 bushels of potatoes. He owned three horses, ten neat cattle, twelve sheep, and seven hogs.
The 1880 Meachum Atlas of P.E.I. indicates that Alexander Stewart had moved to North Pinette. The atles shows 100 acres on the North Branch of the Pinnette River in the possession of the "Hrs of Alexr Stewart".
