Jens died in Horsfeldt, Bedsted, Hassing herred, Thisted amt, Denmark, on 18 Mar 1827; he was 62.1 Buried on 25 Mar 1827 in Bedsted, Hassing herred, Thisted amt, Denmark.1

On 20 Feb 1794 Jens married Appelone (Abelone) Michelsdatter, daughter of Michel Jacobsen Smed & Margrethe Andersdatter, in Vestervig, Refs herred, Thisted amt, Denmark.3 Born in Dec 1771 in Ydby, Refs herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark. Appelone (Abelone) was baptized in Ydby, Refs herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark, on 8 Dec 1771.4 Appelone (Abelone) died in Serup, Odby, Refs herred, Thisted amt, Denmark, on 3 Sep 1844; she was 72.5 Buried on 13 Sep 1844 in Odby, Refs herred, Thisted amt, Denmark.5
The godparents of Appellone Michelsdatter were Boÿe Pedersen [of Ydby], Jens Andersen, Pouel Christensen [of either Flarup bye or Skibstedgaard, Ydby]. (opslag 202)
She appears not to have been part of her parents household in 1787. The marriage record in the Vestervig parish register states that she resided at Oxenboll (Oksenbol) farm. Wedding banns were read on 24 January 1794. The banns and marriage record state that Michel Jacobsen of Ydby was present.
The 1834 Danish census states that Abelone Michelsdatter, her husband Poul Jensen Refs, her daughter Magrethe Jensdatter and his daughter Nicoline Refs resided at Serup village, Odby parish, Refs district, Thisted County. Poul Jensen Refs was retired (Aftægtsmand).
The 1840 Danish census states that Abelone Michelsdatter resided at Serup village, Odby parish, Refs district, Thisted County. She was a 69-year-old widow (Enke, aftægtskone). Peder Christian Jensen, his wife Magrethe Jensdatter (Abelone's daughter) and their daughter Else Pedersen resided with Abelone Michelsdatter.
