4. Peder Christensen (Christen2, Christen -sen1). Born abt Aug 1729 in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark. Peder was baptized in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark, on 14 Aug 1729.1 Peder died in Karby, Morsø Sønder herred, Thisted amt, Denmark, in May 1799; he was 69. Buried on 18 May 1799 in Karby, Morsø Sønder herred, Thisted amt, Denmark.2

The child Christensen or Christensdatter was baptized on the 9th Sunday after Trinity 1729 introduced introduced at church later in 1729. Godparents (faddere) at the baptismal were Mad [?????], le Friderich Schmidt [????], Anne Lauridsdatter, [Niel Nielsen], Laurs Nielsen and Anders Mortensen of Harring. (opslag 61)

On 1 Mar 1754 Peder married Dorthe Clausdatter in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark.1 Born abt 1733 in Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark. Dorthe died in Tødsø, Morsø Nørre herred, Thisted amt, Denmark, on 21 Jun 1819; she was 86.3 Buried on 27 May 1819 in Tødsø, Morsø Nørre herred, Thisted amt, Denmark.3

5. [Niels] Christensen (Christen2, Christen -sen1). Born abt May 1731 in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark. [Niels] was baptized in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark, on 14 May 1731. [Niels] was baptized in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark, on 17 Jun 1733.

The godparents are Mademoiselle Frideric Schmidt, ????, Christensdatter, ????, Anders ???, and Christen Pedersen. They were all from Harring. The child was introduced at church on the 4th Sunday after Trinity (17 June) 1731. (opslag 62)

6. Thomas Christensen (Christen2, Christen -sen1). Born abt Apr 1733 in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark. Thomas was baptized in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark, on 5 Apr 1733. Thomas was baptized in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark, on 12 Jul 1733. Thomas died in Harring, Hassing herred, Thisted amt, Denmark, on 8 Feb 1816; he was 82.1 Buried on 16 Feb 1816 in Harring, Hassing herred, Thisted amt, Denmark.1

Thomas Christensen was baptized on Domine Quasimodo (the Sunday after Easter (12 April) 1733. He was introduced at church on Domine Exaudi (12 July) 1733. Thomas married Kirsten Christensdatter. Born abt 1740. Kirsten died in Harring, Hassing herred, Thisted amt, Denmark, on 1 Sep 1814; she was 74.1 Buried on 13 Sep 1814 in Harring, Hassing herred, Thisted amt, Denmark.1

Thomas Christensen, his wife Kirsten Christensdatter with the daughters resided at Harring village and parish according to the 1787 Danish census. He was the builder at the minister’s farm (Afbygger paa Præstgaard).

The 1803 Danish census states that Thomas Christensen and his wife Kirsten Christensdatter resided at Trædholm, Harring parish. Their daughter Karen Thomasdatter and son Mads Thomassen lived in the household.

7. Iver Christensen (Christen2, Christen -sen1). Born abt Feb 1735 in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark. Iver was baptized in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark, on 13 Feb 1735. Iver died in Villerslev, Hassing herred, Thisted amt, Denmark, on 4 Jun 1806; he was 71.4

Iver Christen was baptized on Domine Sexagesima (the 2nd Sunday before Ash Wednesday) 1735. His godparents were Ellen Christensdatter of Harring, Jens [----], Anne Lauridsdatter, ???, and [Niels] Pedersen of Harring. (opslag 65)

The betrothal of Iver Christensen of Harring parish and Zidsel Jensdatter [of Villerslev parish] was announced at Villerslev parish church on 25 September 1760. Witnesses to the betrothal were Manden (men) Jens Andersen of Willerslev and Jens [Christensen] of Harring.

The family was known by the name of Kirkegaard because they were the family living at the church farm (Kirkegaard; modern Danish Kirkegård). A family usually took on the name of a farm or a local geographical feature so as to distinguish themselves from other people in the community with the same patronymic. In the case of Iver Christensen and his family, the name Kirkegaard was chosen because they resided at the farm closest to the church and where the minister would change into his religious robes to conduct church services. Ministers in rural areas travelled among several churches. The Kirkegaard was sometimes called the Anexgaard (modern Danish Annexgård).

Iver Christensen, his wife Sidsel Jensdatter and their children resided at Villerslev village and parish, Hassing district, Thisted County according to the 1787 Danish census. Iver Christensen was the head of household, a peasant farmer and farm resident. The census states that their children were born of another marriage (which for Poul Iversen and his siblings is inconsistent given the ages of the children relative to the parents’ marriage and the church registers).

The family of Iver Christensen resided at Villerslev village and parish, Hassing district, Thisted County according to the 1801 Danish census. Iver Christensen was a widower and peasant farmer. His children Jens Iversen, Ane (or Anne) Iversdatter and Maren Iversdatter resided with him.

On 30 Oct 1760 Iver married Zidsel Jensdatter, daughter of Jens -sen, in Villerslev, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark.4 Born on 20 May 1729 in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark.1 Zidsel died in Villerslev, Hassing herred, Thisted amt, Denmark, on 23 Jul 1800; she was 71.4

On 6 Oct 1763 Christen married Anne Madsdatter in Stagstrup, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark.5 Born in Stagstrup, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark.

9. Maren Christensdatter (Christen Christensen2, Christen -sen1). Born abt 1739 in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark.

10. Mads Christensen (Christen2, Christen -sen1). Born abt Sep 1742 in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark. Mads was baptized in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark, on 17 Sep 1742. Mads died in Harring, Hassing herred, Thisted amt, Denmark, in Jan 1773; he was 30. Buried on 6 Feb 1773 in Harring, Hassing herred, Thisted amt, Denmark.1

Mads Christensen was baptized the 17th Sunday after Trinity 1742. He was introduced at church on the 22nd Sunday after Trinity 1742. His godparents were Boild Pedersdatter of Hørdum, Anne Jensdatter or Iversdatter, Niels Pedersen, Søren Jensen or Iversen and Jens Larsen. (opslag 69)

Pouel was baptized in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark, on 11 Jul 1745.1 Pouel died in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark, in Apr 1748; he was 2. Buried on 21 Apr 1748 in Harring, Hassing herred, Dueholm Ørum og Vestervig amt, Denmark.1

Pouel Christensen was baptized on the fourth Sunday after Trinity (11 July) 1745. He was introduced at church on the ninth Sunday after Trinity (15 August) 1745. His godparents were Boild Pedersdatter of Hørdum ????, Ingeborg Sørensdatter of Harring, Christen Laursen of Oland [Harring], Jens Westergaard of Roeholm, and Christen [Nielsen] of Harring.
