Russell Hiltz served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War. After the war, he worked for the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation until he retired in 1981. He was a directors of the New Ross Credit Union at New Ross, Nova Scotia as well as a member of the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department. He was a deputy chief and chaplain to the fire department. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 79 in New Ross.44

On 20 Aug 1947 Russell St.Clair married Delilah Bernice Meister , daughter of Lincoln Hanson Meister & Mary Burdett Gates, in New Ross, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada. Before she married in 1947, Bernice Meister taught school in Leville and on Tancook Island, Nova Scotia. She fondly remembered those communities but most of all the children. Bernice Hiltz found pleasure in serving in both her community and church. For many years she was involved in the Brownie and Girl Guide movement. Other community activities included the Messengers of Music, an honorary member of the Charing Cross Garden Club and a founding member of the New Ross Historical Society, all in New Rod, Nova Scotia. In the United Baptist Church at New Ross, she was at various times Sunday school superintendent and teacher, a deacon, Ladies Auxiliary member, choir member, and director of the men’s choir.213

Foster Hiltz worked as a mill worker and a truck driver. He managed his own land through logging and Christmas tree farming. Foster Hiltz was also a woodsman working in lumber camps where he had many good tales of those days. He worked on the board of directors with the Forties Community Centre, WAYS (We Appreciate Your Service), and Family Services. He was a member of the St. Augustine's Anglican Church, The Forties, Nova Scotia where he was a church warden for many years. He loved being a member of the Mahone Bay and Area Lions Club in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia.137

Foster Owen married Pansy Maxine Reeves (Living) (10830) , daughter of 5707. Harold Fenwick Reeves & Verna Luetta Swinimer.

Norma Joan Hiltz (Living) married Edison Phillip Walker. Born on 23 Mar 1924 in New Russell, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada. Edison Phillip died in Truro, Colchester Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 17 Mar 2014; he was 89. Buried in Forties Settlement (a.k.a. The Forties), Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada.

Edison Walker joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1941 when he was 17. He served as a wireless operator, mostly on Corvettes. His two favourites were the H.M.C.S. Brandon and the H.M.C.S. Ville de Quebec. He took part in the Murmansk run to Soviet Union and was on the H.M.C.S. Ville de Quebec when she rammed a German sub in the Mediterranean. He was injured and spent several months in hospital in England. He would never talk very much about the war, but he had a life-long respect for all veterans. Remembrance Day was very meaningful for him. After the war, he completed his education and then worked at different jobs for a short time until he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, retiring in 1963. The next year he moved to Truro to work at the Diefenbunker (a Cold War era defense bunker) at C.F.S. Debert, Nova Scotia until it closed in the late 1980s.
