George Kendall was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Second World War. During the War, he participated in three battles in Germany, served 2 ½ years as a Supply Clerk in the United States Army Air Force from 1943-1945, and was as a rifleman with the US Army machine gun squad from 1945-1946. Following his discharge from the military, he attended the New England School of Art, Boston, where he majored in advertising and design, graduating in 1951. George Kendall worked as a sign and display manager for area department stores, including W.T. Grant Co. at their Leominster and Clinton, Massachusetts locations for 25 years, and at Jordan Marsh’s Worcester and Leominster, Massachusetts locations from 1975 to 1987 at which time he retired. He had been a resident of Clinton, Massachusetts since 1976.
