Harriet Bartlett was a career woman in an age when most women remained at home. She lived an interesting life, moving from Massachusetts with her husband and family to purchase and run an old country store in Sanbornville, New Hampshire. Later she held many interesting positions to include the office manager at John Hancock Insurance Company in Manchester, New Hampshire and later the Executive Assistant to the Museum Director at the Currier Gallery of Art in Manchester. Harriet and Maurice Bartlett enjoyed an early retirement and moved to Florida in 1983. Not content to sit at home, she attended the local community college to hone her computer skills and, using those skills, ran the office for the Pineland Homes Construction Company in Englewood, Florida. In 2009 after the death of her husband, she returned to New Hampshire to live with her son Kevin Bartlet and his wife.272
