Donald Hiltz attended and graduated from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Technical College in Halifax. He found employment in Kentville, Nova Sotia, as a student engineer, with the Dominion Atlantic Railway division of the Canadian Pacific Railway (C.P.R.). He later moved to Saint John, New Bbrunswick as assistant to the Divisional Engineer. After subsequent moves with C.P.R. to Sherbrooke and Montréal, Québec, he was transferred back to Kentville as Divisional Engineer and was to be promoted to London, Ontario. Due to family illness Don Hiltz left the C.P.R. and formed Hiltz & Seamone Co. Ltd., providing engineering services through the Annapolis Valley region of Nova Scotia from Digby to Wolfville. He was a member of the Anglican Church where he was a choir and council member for many years and president of the Rotary Club in Kentville.213

Murray Edwards enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1946 where he served 20 years. During his naval career he served aboard H.M.C.S. La Hulloise, Haidi, Warrior, Magnificent, Quebec, Ontario, Chaudiere, and Bonaventure. He left the navy with the rank of Chief Petty Officer First Class. His next career took him into sales and management with Sherwin Williams Paint Co., Penhorn Mall in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and Hillcrest Volkswagen in Halifax, Nova Scotia.258
