Enoch “Hank” Curtis left high school early to volunteer with the United States Coast Guard and served aboard the Fletcher Class Destroyer USS Callaghan in the Pacific theater of the Second World War. He and his shipmates provided support in the battles for Saipan, Guam, the Philippines and Leyte Gulf. He continued to serve after the war during the occupation of Japan. After the War, he work with the Regis Paper Co. in Newton Upper Falls, Massachusetts. He worked corrugating paper and as a forklift operator until retiring after 48 years with the company. He worked part time with Stop & Shop in Natick, Massachusetts for several years prior to joining the staff at the Leo J. Martin golf course in Weston, Massachusetts.321
