Harold Gray, service number V/248, served in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve during the Second World War. He was a stoker on the H.M.C.S. Margaree. He died at sea on 22 October 1940 when the H.M.C.S. Margaree sank.142 The H.M.C.S. Margaree was struck and split in two by the freighter M.V. Port Fairy in rough seas during a convoy from Great Britain to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
