Born on 22 Apr 1940 in Gold River, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada.261 Laurie Ernest died in Western Shore, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 15 Jan 2010; he was 69.261 Occupation: Mechanic.
In his early years Laurie Myra worked at Halifax Shipyards, Halifax, Nova Scotia and then for Bridgewater, Nova Scotia Farmers Dairy in the Chester, Nova Scotia area. He then went on to start his career as a mechanic and started his own business “Laurie’s Auto Repairs” where he specialized as a heavy duty mechanic, working for over 40 years. He was a member of the Parish of St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Western Shore.
Laurie Myra was a member and Past Master of Masonic Charity Lodge No. 69, Mahone Bay having joined in 1975. He was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Grace Chapter No. 8, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, which he joined in 1977 and later affiliated with Shoreham Chapter No. 59, Chester. Laurie Myra was a member of the Western Shore and District Fire Department for 47 years. He was an Honorary Fire Chief and was instrumental in the planning and building of the addition to the Fire Hall in 1984.261
Laurie Myra died from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) also known as motor neuron disease.
Laurie Ernest married Stella Swinamer.
