Casper Friedrich Saltzman deeded land at Murder's Point (now Martin's Point), Chester Township to his son George Michael Saltzman on 13 February 1815. The Saltzman family initially resided at Martin’s River, N.S. Sometime between 1831 and 1834, the family removed to Sherbrooke (now New Ross), Nova Scotia. Michael and Catherine Saltzman sold some of that land at Murderer's Point to James Langille on 11 December 1830. Additional land was sold to John Langille on 24 September 1834. Catherine Saltzman died of dropsy.

On 7 Jan 1823 George Michael married Catherine Margaretha Ernst, daughter of Johann Mathias Ernst & Magdalena Eisenhauer, in Lunenburg, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, British North America.5 Born on 6 Jul 1794 in Oakland, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, British North America.6 Catherine Margaretha was baptized in Lunenburg, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, British North America, on 26 Jul 1794.6 Catherine Margaretha died in New Ross, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 24 May 1873; she was 78.11

On 5 Mar 1818 Anna Barbara married William John Turner in Lunenburg, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, British North America.5 Born abt 1789 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, United Kingdom. William John died in Northfield, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 10 Jun 1871; he was 82.9

William Turner served in the East India Company as a purser’s steward and in the Royal Navy as captain’s clerk. He served from 1803 to 1811 according to an 1862 petition to the provincial government. The petition states that he came to Nova Scotia in 1812. (N.S.A., RG 5, Series P, vol. 77, 1862, doc. 65).

According to the parish register of St. James Anglican Church at Lunenburg, N.S., William Turner was a school teacher and merchant from Oxford, England. The baptismal records of his children variously list him as a fisherman, schoolmaster, and farmer. He became a farmer upon settlement at Northfield, Nova Scotia.

William Turner appeared in the 1838 Nova Scotia census (Lunenburg, p. 16). His household consisted of 9 people: three males over age 14; two females over age 14; one male between ages 6 and 14; two females between ages 6 and 14; and one male under age 6.

William and Barbara Turner resided at [Chelsea], New Germany census district, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia according to the 1871 Canadian federal census. They resided in the household of their daughter and son-in-law Emma and Andrew Jain (James?). William Turner was born in England. Barbara Turner was German and was born in the province. William Turner died from consumption.
