Edward Zwicker joined the North-West Mounted Police on 25 June 1880 at Fort Walsh, North-West Territories and was a member “B”. He was discharged at Regina on 24 June 1885 upon the expiration of the term of service. He was recommended for service by Senator C.E. Kaulbach in a letter dated 16 February 1880 to Prime Minister Sir John A. MacDonald. On 9 February 1881, Constable Edward Zwicker was displined because he “Did carelessly allow an Indian prisoner while on [????] Guard on the afternoon on the 9th inst.” He was fined one month’s pay. He indicated that upon discharge, his intended place of residence would be Cape North, Victoria County, Nova Scotia. (RG 18, vol 10038, regimental no. 447)
