Born abt 1938 in Grafton, Kings Co., Nova Scotia, Canada. Purdy Auston (Mannie) died in West Berwick, Kings Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 7 Jul 2008; he was 70.

Mannie and Annette Lewis settled in Weston, Kings County, Nova Scotia and together operated a large mixed farming operation for many years. In 1994 they moved to West Berwick, Kings County, Nova Scotia, where they continued in farming. Mannie Lewis was a member of both the Kings County and Nova Scotia Federations of Agriculture and was a former director of both the Grain Marketing Board and the Berwick Arena. Mannie and Annette Lewis were both members of C.A.P.S. (Companion Animal Protection Society) from where they adopted their faithful cat, Maggie May. In 1962 Purdy Auston (Mannie) married Annette DeMont Huntley. Born on 28 Apr 1941 in South Berwick, Kings Co., Nova Scotia, Canada. Annette DeMont died in Kentville, Kings Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 16 Aug 2014; she was 73.

Prior to her marriage to P. A. "Mannie" Lewis, Annette Huntley was employed in the office of M. W. Graves & Co. Ltd., Berwick. In 1962, she married Mannie Lewis and resided in Weston, Kings County, Nova Scotia where they owned and operated a large mixed farming operation. In 1994, they moved to West Berwick, Kings County, Nova Scotia and continued their farming business until Mannie's death in 2008. Annette Lewis was employed by the Kings County District School Board as a dedicated secretary at the Somerset and District Elementary School for 29 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Berwick United Church, the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, C.A.P.S. (Companion Animal Protection Society), and a former member of the Weston Women's Institute. They had no children.

Jean married Cyril Huntley, son of Perley Rich Huntley & Carrie Adelia Hiltz.
