1. Andrew White. Born abt 1780 in Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia, British America. Andrew died in Pleasant River Road, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 2 Feb 1873; he was 93.1

This Andrew White is not likely the son Andrew White of Andrew and Sarah (Ralley/Raily) White, the Planter settlers from Massachusetts at Granville Township, Nova Scotia. While there may be a connection to the Planter White family, there currently is no known evidence to make the connection. This Andrew White, for whom a birth date is not known, could be a grandson of Andrew and Sarah White. Planter settler Andrew White was Scots-Irish in origins which makes a possible connection to the Andrew White here as this Andrew White states Irish origins in the 1871 Canadian federal census. Further evidence to suggest a connection to the Planter White family maybe be the marriage of son James White to Maria Julia Sproul whose Sproul ancestry is also of Scots-Irish or Irish origin.

Andrew White appears in the 1838 Nova Scotia census for Lunenburg Township (p. 16). In addition to the head of the household, there were three other family members: one female over age 14; one male over age 14; and one female between ages 6 and 14. Andrew is listed as a farmer.

Andrew and Elizabeth White appear in the 1871 federal census. They are listed as members of his son James White’s household. They were both illiterate. Andrew White is listed as being blind and of Irish background, and Elizabeth White is listed as being of German background.
