John and Elizabeth Vallentine and their children lived in Brampton, Huntingdonshire in 1851. The census incorrectly states his age as 48 and her age as 42. Their children Sarah, Mary, Emmer and William resided with them. Sarah was born in Great Stukeley and the others in Brampton. John was an agricultural labourer. he 1881 census indicates that John Valentine was a 70-year-old widower who was born in Great Stukeley. He was an agricultural labourer. He was an inmate of the Union Workhouse, St. John's parish, Huntingdon. (RG 11, piece 1604, folio 52, p. 36) In 1891, the census indicates that he was an inmate at the Huntingdon Union Workhouse. The census states that he was born at Great Stukeley, Hunts and that he was a widower and a shepherd. (RG 12, piece 1237, folio 216, p. 1) He resided at the workhouse until his death in 1893 at age 82. His death certificate states that he died of senile decay.

Elizabeth Darlow was a widow and a washerwoman. The census states that her sons Charles (age 21), Percy (age 5) and William (age 3) resided with her. The two younger children were her step-grandchildren from John and Maria (Farrow) Darlow. Additionally she had three boarders from the 5th Battallion of the King's Royal Rifles: Herbert Casey age 25 of Oldham, Lancashire; Thomas Evans age 27 of Oldham, Lancashire; and Alfred Wiggins age 28 of Peterboro, Northamptonshire. The 1901 British census states that Elizabeth Darlow and her sons Charles and George resided at 33 St. Clement's Passage. She was a 56-year old widow and a charwoman. Elizabeth Darlow was born at Manea, Cambridgeshire. Charles and George Darlow were farm labourers who were born Huntingdon. (RG 13, piece 1475, folio 64, p. 7)
She died of senile decay and bronchitis at St. Clements's Passage, Huntingdon.
