Joseph Frederick and Annie Rebecca Markillie resided at St. Mary's Street, Ely (St. Mary), Cambridgeshire according to the 1901 British census. Joseph F. Markillie was a bank cashier. He was born at Spalding Lincolnshire. Annie Rebecca Markillie and her mother Sophia Ann Savage, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law, were born at Holbeach, Lincolnshire. Joseph Frederick Markillie is listed in the 1901 Kelly's Directory for Cambridgeshire - Ely. Joseph Frederick Markillie was a Manager, Barclay and Company's Bank, Limited, High Street, Ely. The entry for 1916, 1933 and 1937 are much the same but the address changed to Bank House, 5 Cambridge Road, Ely, 1933 and 1937 . The1937 Kelly's Directory of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk states: Banker: MARKILLIE, Joseph Frederick 5 Cambridge Road, Ely TN123.

"I Joseph Frederick MARKILLIE of the Cambridge Road in the City of Ely in the Isle of Ely and County of Cambridge Retired Bank Manager hereby revoke all former Wills and Testamentary Dispositions heretofore made by me and Declare this only to be my last Will and Testament as follows (that is to say):
1. I APPOINT my sister Mildred DAWBARN, widow, and John GOODWYN ALLDEN BECKETT of Ely aforesaid Solicitor (who together with the survivor of them and the executors and administrators of such survivor or other the trustees or trustee for the time being of this my Will are hereinafter referred to as "my Trustees" to be the EXECUTORS and TRUSTEES of
this my Will.
2. I GIVE AND BEQUEATH (free of duty) unto my Trustees the legacy or sum of FIFTY GUINEAS each provided he or she proves this my Will and carry out the Trusts thereof.
3. I GIVE AND BEQUEATH (free of duty) unto FRANK MONEY of Sleaford Lincolnshire my Dining Room Table and my Dining Room Chairs.
4. I GIVE AND BEQUEATH unto my Trustees all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever UPON TRUST to make sale and convert into money all such parts thereof as do not consist of money and to stand possessed of the net proceeds thereof together with my ready monies. Upon Trust to pay my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses the expenses of proving this my Will the payment of all duties due to government and the pecuniary legacies bequeathed by this my Will and upon Further Trust to divide the net monies then remaining equally between my sister the said Mildred DAWBARN my brother ERNEST MARKILLIE my sister FLORENCE PARKER (widow) my sister-in-law FLORENCE MARKILLIE (widow) and my sister-in-law Ellen MARKILLIE (widow).
5. I GIVE AND DEVISE unto my Trustees all my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever UPON TRUST to make sale of the same and to stand possessed of the net proceeds of sale upon the same and similar Trusts as are hereinbefore declared of and regarding my residuary personal estate.
6. I DIRECT that my Trustees instead of acting personally may employ and pay a Solicitor or other agent to act for them in the trust business including the receipt and payment of money and that any Trustee of mine who shall be a Solicitor or other professional person shall be allowed all professional and other charges for his time and trouble which if employed as a Solicitor or other professional person to my Trustees not being himself a Trustee he would be entitled to make and the same power to charge shall be extended to any firm of which he is a partner.

330. Thomas Walter Markillie (Harriette Le Pla7, James6, Matthew5, Samuel4, Samuel3, Jean2, Jacques1). Born on 17 Oct 1869 in Wisbech St. Peter, Cambridgeshire, England, United Kingdom. Thomas Walter died in San Francisco, San Francisco Co., California, U.S.A., on 7 Aug 1941; he was 71.

He immigrated to the United States in 1889 arriving at Portland, Oregon on 1 August 1889.

Walter Markillie, his wife Nellie and their six children are listed in the 1910 federal census (Multnomah Co., Portland: ED 210, sheet 11A, ward 8 [T624, roll 1287, p. 212]). The family resided at 931 East Flanders, Portland. Walter and Nellie had been married 17 years. Nellie gave birth to seven children of which six were living in 1910. Walter Markillie was born in England while Nellie was born in Canada. He was a real estate manager.

On 8 Apr 1893 Thomas Walter first married Helen Cecilia O'Brien in Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, U.S.A.
