Alice Walker taught for twenty-three years in Lunenburg and Kings Counties, Nova Scotia retiring from Aldershot Elementary in 1981. She gave of her time and talents to almost every board and committee at Kentville United Baptist Church in Kentville, Nova Scotia where she is remembered for her dedication, exceptional programmes, organizational skills and prayers. She also volunteered at Kings Historical Society in Kentville and the Kingswood Camp in Alylesford, Nova Scotia.27

Alan Corkum was a very proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 28 years. He was first a member of the Black Watch and later as a member of the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment where he rose to the rank of Master Warrant Officer and Sgt.-Major of "C" company. He always had his "boots shined and his buckles polished". In retirment Alan was also a fine designer and cabinet maker.
Always up for a challenge, Alan Corkum served on the Gagetown Village Council in New Brunswick, then became Mayor. He was a two-time President of the Union of Municipalities of New Brunswick. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 71, where he served in many, if not all, executive positions, also organizing and being emcee of the yearly Remembrance Day Service.
