After teaching school for a year, Elizabeth Corbin decided to move to a nursing career. After four years of training at the Yarmouth General Hospital in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, she graduated as a Registered Nurse and worked throughout the United States and Canada. She entered the military as a nurse in the Canadian Armed Forces. She was posted overseas in Germany for several years but returned to Canada to complete her military service and retired from the Armed Services. Her last placement was the Maternity Ward in Fishermans Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.212
