Adeline Haley made her career in retail and had been employed with Hiltz Dry Goods, the Eaton's Catalogue Office, Jim Duguid Jewelers, Ripley's Shoe Store, Pretti Posies and The Real Deal in Kentville, Nova Scotia. She attended the Kentville United Baptist Church, where she served with the Ladies Auxiliary. She had been an active member of her Knitting Club. Adeline supported the Canadian Red Cross, volunteering at blood donor clinics and was a former member of the Kentville Lionettes, the Business and Professional Women's Association and the Dorcas Society.44

Ruby Anderson came to Ontario in 1946 when she married Ray Falkins. They moved to Alberta in 1954 and returned to Ontario in 1959. Ruby and Ray Falkins owned and operated the Wendie Leigh Motel for a number of years. She was a past member of the Tri-Lake Historical Automobile Association and Rebecca's of Glanworth, Ontario. In 1946 Ruby Melissa married Raymond Carl Falkins. Born on 6 Dec 1924 in London, Middlesex Co., Ontario, Canada. Raymond Carl died in St. Thomas, Elgin Co., Ontario, Canada, on 23 Oct 2010; he was 85.

Raymond Falkins enlisted in the Canadian Army in September 1941 with the Elgin Rregiment and served overseas in England, North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Germany. He started in the Provost Corps, Tank division and front lines. Honorably discharged in 1946, Raymond Falkins returned to St. Thomas and opened his own muffler shop. He was an avid stock car racer and flag man for years at Delaware, Nilestown and surrounding race tracks. In 1954 he moved his family to Alberta where he worked in the oil rigs and started his own trucking business. He returned to St. Thomas in 1959 working for the New York Central Railway and later the C.& O. Railway as a welding supervisor. After returning from the railroad he owned and operated the Wendie Leigh Motel and ran his own trucking business. He was instrumental in forming the Golden Acres Snowmobile Club of St. Thomas and served as director/treasurer for the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs for years. He helped organize the first overseas venture of snowmobilers journeying to Switzerland in 1968. He was a member of the Tri-Lake Historical Automobile Association and past member of the Odd Fellows of Glanworth, Ontario. (St. Thomas Times Journal, St. Thomas, Ontario, Oct. 2010)
