An important part of his earlier years was farming, of which Frederick North was very proud. He served during the Second World War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Habitant Branch No. 73, Canning, Nova Scotia. He was retired from the Federal Government as the Inspection Supervisor with Hub Meat Packers in Moncton, New Brunswick.213
