Mary Butt graduated from the Newfoundland School of Nursing at St. John’s, Newfoundland and nursed in Burgeo, Markland and St. John’s, Newfoundland. In the late 1940s, Mary Wood started working at the Nova Scotia Sanatorium in Kentville, Nova Scotia until retiring in 1982.213

On 13 Sep 1943 Hazel Marie married Warren Keith Croft, son of Clarence Clifford Croft & Rosie Mae Croft, in Church Street, Kings Co., Nova Scotia, Canada.10 Born in 1917 in Cobalt, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada. Warren Keith died in Tatamagouche, Colchester Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, on 13 May 1989; he was 72.41

His marriage certificate states that Warren Croft was born at Cobalt, Ontario while the obituary states Giroux Lake, Ontario. Both communities were mining towns.

Warren Croft was a member of the West Nova Scotia Regiment serving during the Second World War. He worked for Simpson’s (The Robert Simpson Company Limited, department store chain) until his retirement.41
