27. Anna Catharina Heyson (Johann Friedrich5, Johannes Heuson4, Hans-Velten3, Velten2, Christianus Hußon1). Born on 21 Jul 1733 in Hering [bei Otzberg], Kur-Pfalz, Holy Roman Empire.4 Anna Catharina was baptized in Hering [bei Otzberg], Kur-Pfalz, Holy Roman Empire, on 22 Jul 1733.4
On 1 Dec 1752 Anna Catharina married Johann Adam Linck in Halifax, Nova Scotia, British America.7 Born abt 1732 in Lgft. Hessen, Holy Roman Empire.
Johann Adam Linck was a mason by trade. He came to Halifax in 1752 on the Sally. According to the return of divisions of Lunenburg in July 1754, he resided at Rudolf’s Division, lot F-6. The return of the division stated that he had a house and garden. He was also listed as a soldier. In 1754 he received a 30-acre lot at Centre, lot A-7 (Bell’s Register). In 1760 the lot at Centre was registered to J. Adam Linck but was listed as vacant. The Linck family had left the community by 1760. It is currently not known where the family went especially if Johann Adam Linck was a soldier as noted in 1754. They may have gone to Pennsylvania.

Born on 20 Oct 1737 in Hering [bei Otzberg], Kur-Pfalz, Holy Roman Empire.4 Johann Philip was baptized in Hering [bei Otzberg], Kur-Pfalz, Holy Roman Empire, on 24 Oct 1737.4 Johann Philip died in Mahone Bay, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, British North America, on 1 Jan 1813; he was 75.3
Johann Philip Heyson came to Nova Scotia on the Murdoch in 1751 with his parents. His wife Maria Magdalena Zwicker came to Nova Scotia on the Gale in 1752 with her parents. Philip Heyson independently appears in the records beginning in 1760 with the registry of 30-acre lots. He appears with Peter Zwicker [jr.]; they are listed as each owning a 30-acre lot between the land of Benjn Green and that of Henry Becker who owned Oakland nos. 12 and 13 which were the last two lots in the first Oakland range. On 3 December 1764 Philip Heison participated in the third 300-acre land lottery and received a lot at Fourth Division, F-5 (Bell's Register). The Lunenburg township grant of 30 June 1784 confirmed his ownership to 675 acres (DesBrisay, Mather Byles. History of the County of Lunenburg, p. 71). His land holdings were scattered throughout the villages of Mahone Bay, Clearland, Oakland and Indian Point.
Philip Heison appeared in the 1770 Nova Scotia census (1770 census, p. 5). His household consisted of six people: one man, one woman, three boys and one girl. He owned two oxen/bulls, two cows, two young neat cattle and two swine. His farm produced 10 bushels of rye, four bushels of pease [sic], 12 bushels of barley and four bushels of oats.
On 15 October 1798, Philip Heyson received £6 cash payment for repairs that he made to the Mushamush bridge (Nova Scotia Archives: MG 4, no. 93.).

In the Name of God Amen, I Philip Hison of Mahone Bay in the County of Lunenburg and province of Nova Scotia Farmer, considering the uncertainty of human life and although I am at present infirm yet being of sound and perfect mind and memory, I think it my duty to regulate my affairs in this life, so that those who may come after me may have as little trouble as possible respecting thesame and do therefore make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and form following, First I direct that my body may be decently buried in such way as my Executors herein after named shall think fit, and my Executor do pay all my Just debts, and as to my worldly Sustenance of Kind or Nature soever both Real and personal Estate of every Kind, I give devise and bequeath thesame and every part thereof, in the following manner, I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Magdalena Hison during her natural life the house in which she now live together with all my household furniture and everything appertaining thereto, Also the annual interest of five hundred pounds which Sum it is my will that my Executors hereafter Named shall hold in Trust for the purpose aforesaid, and after the death of my said wife do dispose of thesame as hereafter directed; And unto my Son Jacob Hison the house and land on which he now lives together with the house devised to my said wife after her death, also four Thirty acre Lots situate in Clear Land Number fourteen & fifteen & thirteen & fourteen he paying unto the Two children children of his late Brother John the Sum of Two hundred and fifty pounds which is to be equally divided between them when they shall attain the Age of Eighteen years, which said land and everything thereunto belonging in case my said Son Jacob shall die without any Male issue then it is my will that the Two Eldest sons of each of his Brothers (William and Henry) shall become the heirs to said Estate and that the heirs Male of their bodies do respectively inherit the same, and unto my Sons William Hison and Henry Hison Two thirty acre Lots situate in Mahone Bay number Ten and No Twelve and half a Thirty acre Lot back of Number Nine they paying into the hands of my said Executors the Sum of Seven hundred and fifty pounds, & also unto my said Son William a Three hundred acre Lot Number five Letter F fourth division Martin's River, and one Thirty acre Lot Number Eleven in Clear Land & unto my said Son Henry Two Thirty acre Lots in Clear land. This is the last Will and Testament of [Maria] Magdalena Hyson of Mahone Bay in the County of Lunenburg Widow First I will and direct that all my just debts, the expenses of my funeral and the charges of and [attesting] the Probate of this my last Will and Testament be paid and discharged by my executor hereinafter named out of my estate and effects. Secondly I give devise and bequeath all the Rest and residue of my personal estate and effects of whatsoever nature and Kind unto my son Henry Hyson his heirs and assigns. In the Name of God Amen, I Philip Hison of Mahone Bay in the County of Lunenburg and province of Nova Scotia Farmer, considering the uncertainty of human life and although I am at present infirm yet being of sound and perfect mind and memory, I think it my duty to regulate my affairs in this life, so that those who may come after me may have as little trouble as possible respecting thesame and do therefore make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and form following, First I direct that my body may be decently buried in such way as my Executors herein after named shall think fit, and my Executor do pay all my Just debts, and as to my worldly Sustenance of Kind or Nature soever both Real and personal Estate of every Kind, I give devise and bequeath thesame and every part thereof, in the following manner, I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Magdalena Hison during her natural life the house in which she now live together with all my household furniture and everything appertaining thereto, Also the annual interest of five hundred pounds which Sum it is my will that my Executors hereafter Named shall hold in Trust for the purpose aforesaid, and after the death of my said wife do dispose of thesame as hereafter directed; And unto my Son Jacob Hison the house and land on which he now lives together with the house devised to my said wife after her death, also four Thirty acre Lots situate in Clear Land Number fourteen & fifteen & thirteen & fourteen he paying unto the Two children children of his late Brother John the Sum of Two hundred and fifty pounds which is to be equally divided between them when they shall attain the Age of Eighteen years, which said land and everything thereunto belonging in case my said Son Jacob shall die without any Male issue then it is my will that the Two Eldest sons of each of his Brothers (William and Henry) shall become the heirs to said Estate and that the heirs Male of their bodies do respectively inherit the same, and unto my Sons William Hison and Henry Hison Two thirty acre Lots situate in Mahone Bay number Ten and No Twelve and half a Thirty acre Lot back of Number Nine they paying into the hands of my said Executors the Sum of Seven hundred and fifty pounds, & also unto my said Son William a Three hundred acre Lot Number five Letter F fourth division Martin's River, and one Thirty acre Lot Number Eleven in Clear Land & unto my said Son Henry Two Thirty acre Lots in Clear land. This is the last Will and Testament of [Maria] Magdalena Hyson of Mahone Bay in the County of Lunenburg Widow First I will and direct that all my just debts, the expenses of my funeral and the charges of and [attesting] the Probate of this my last Will and Testament be paid and discharged by my executor hereinafter named out of my estate and effects. Secondly I give devise and bequeath all the Rest and residue of my personal estate and effects of whatsoever nature and Kind unto my son Henry Hyson his heirs and assigns.
