Gerald Nichols graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia on May 12, 1942, as a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Surgery. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War, and following discharge in 1946 joined in practice in Toronto, Ontario with the Dr. Clarence B. Crummey. The partnership ultimately became the Mount Dennis Medical Group. Dr. Nicols was instrumental in the establishment of the former Humber Memorial Hospital in Toronto.
