Russell Langille and his rowing partner Lloyd Heisler competed in dory races starting in 1934. The competed in 36 races over 21 years. They were provincialk champions for two decades. They competed in the Gloucester and Lunenburg International Dory Races held alternatively in Gloucester, Massachusetts and Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. They entered the international race in 1952 and won. They subsequently won the international race in 1953, 1954 and 1955 which was their last race. They were inducted into the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame in 1982. (Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame)
