Angus White served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1939 to 1941 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army, he spent several years in the boxing ring as an amateur lightweight, while he drove taxis. Later, he owned his own taxi company, and worked at various companies including, J.J. Nissen, Hodgman Rubber, and finally Cushing Hospital. (Metro West Daily News, 24 June 2009)
