After graduating in 1960 from Woburn High School in Woburn, Massachusetts, Arnie Paulsen furthered his education at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts. His professional life as a retail entrepreneur, realtor and systems engineer spanned four decades and included employment with Radio Shack Corporation, W.R. Grace and Konica Corporation. He also owned and operated his own businesses, including A.T. Paulsen Photocopy Machine Co., A.T. Paulsen Real Estate and A.T. Paulsen Graphics Corp. of New England. He was a member of both the Masonic Lodge and the Rotary International.
Arnie Paulsen was an avid astronomer, classic car enthusiast, and hobby machinist. He enjoyed fishing, boating and cooking. He was also an amateur "ham" radio operator since the age of 14.
