He was a pit crew member and crew chief for several NASCAR Modified Series and ARCA teams. He was race director for both Thompson Speedway Motorsport Park, in Thompson, Connecticut and Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Massachusetts and also worked as a spotter at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, Florida. A former charter boat captain, he enjoyed saltwater fishing, quahogging and kayaking and walking trails in Wareham, Massachusetts and along the Cape Cod Canal.
