Lunenburg, October 11 [1921]
The body of Margaret M. Townshend, who was murdered in New York, arrived here by train yesterday morning and was taken charge of by Undertaker Sweeney. The funeral took place this afternoon from Mr. Sweeney's undertaking parlours. The services were at the church and afterwards she was laid to rest in the family plot beside her father. The services at the church and grave were conducted by Rev. Maurice Knickle. Miss Townshend was a native of Lunenburg and spent her early childhood here. She was the daughter of the late George Townshend who carried on a cooperage business here during his lifetime. About five years ago she, together with the rest of her family, removed to the United States, where she has since resided. (Bridgewater Bulletin, October 18, 1921)
