The Social Security Death Index states that her date of birth was 28 December 1878 which conflicts with the 1881 Canadian census which clearly states that she was six months old.
Ida B. White resided at 5 Sorrento Street, Boston, Massachusetts according to the 1900 United States federal census. She was a servant in the household of Frederick and Adelle Fancher. She immigrated to the United States from Canada in 1882. (T623-688, Massachusetts, Suffolk Co., ED 1539, Boston ward 25, p. 15B)

Joseph Martin Gray, son of
James Gray &
Annie Redmond, in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, U.S.A.
11 Born on 19 Mar 1883 in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, U.S.A.11,16,17,18 Joseph Martin died in New Haven, New Haven Co., Connecticut, U.S.A., on 21 Apr 1945; he was 62.16 Buried in Hamden, New Haven Co., Connecticut, U.S.A.
At the time of marriage, Ida Belle Wight was a dressmaker who resided at 114 Prospect Street, Cambridge. Joseph Martin Gray resided at 37 Pilgrim Street, Cambridge. He was clerk.

They had only one child who was living in 1910. Joseph Gray was a shipper in a store house. He and the unnamed infant were born in Massachusetts. Ida B. White was born in Canada and immigrated to the United States in 1893. (T624-596, Massachusetts: Cambridge, ED 782, p. 7B).
The 1920 U.S. federal census states that Joseph M. and Ida B. White with their daughters resided at 50 Magnolia Street, Arlington, Massachusetts. They rented their home. Joseph Gray was a salesman for a shoe company. He and the children were born in Massachusetts. Ida Gray was born in Nova Scotia. Joseph and Ida Gray with their two daughters resided at 87 Davis Street, New Haven, Connecticut according to the 1930 U.S. federal census. They resided with the family of Thomas and Marion Scanlon who apparently were relatives as Joseph Grey was described as the son-in-law of Thomas Scanlon who was age 36 years. Joseph Gray was shoe salesman. Ida Gray was dressmaker for a department store. Evelyn Gray was a clerk for an insurance company. (T626-278, Connecticut: New Haven, ED 92, p. 17A)

Alice Mae Wight (Andrew White3, James White (Wight)2, Andrew White1).
Born abt 17 Jan 1878 in Harmony, Kings Co., Nova Scotia, Canada. Alice Mae died in Arlington, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, U.S.A., on 7 Dec 1921; she was 43.11 Occupation: Dressmaker, Seamstress.
Mariah M. White on the 1881 Canadian census is most likely the same as Alice Mae White. When Alice Mae White Chase died on 7 December 1921, her death certificate stated that she was age 43 years, 10 months and 21 days which places her birth on or about 17 Jan 1878. Her parents were stated as being Andrew White and Idella Banks. The 1900 United States federal census states that Alice Goodnough (her first married surname) was born in Jan. 1878 which matches with the stated age on the death certificate. However, the 1881 Canadian federal census indicates that the children of Andrew and Idella White were his son James N. (age 9) and their daughters Mariah M. (age 2) and Ida B. (age 6 mos.). Alice White is not listed in the 1881 census. The White family are not on the 1891 Canadian census having apparently already relocated to Maine, and there is no 1890 United States census because in burnt. Given the evidence, it is like that Alice M. White Goodnough Chase is the same person as Mariah M. White on the 1881 Canadian census. There were no provincial birth records from 1877 to 1908. Since the family were Baptists, there are no known baptismal records as the Baptists generally did not record births but performed adult baptismal.
